This page explains the cookies and similar technologies this website uses, what each one does, and how you can change your mind at any time. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more generally.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. Websites also use similar technologies such as local storage, which works in much the same way. We use the word “cookies” here to cover both.
2. Your choices
When you first visit, a banner asks you to choose. You can Accept all, Reject all, which turns off every optional category, or Manage preferences to turn individual categories on or off. Rejecting does not stop you using any part of this site. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie preferences link at the foot of every page, or by deleting this site’s cookies in your browser settings, which brings the banner back.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These make the site work. They cannot be switched off and do not need your consent, because the site could not function without them.
| Name | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
sessionId (cookie, set by the platform) | Keeps your session with the platform this website runs on | 1 day |
AWSALB and AWSALBCORS (cookies, set by the platform) | Balance traffic across the platform’s servers | 7 days |
orbit_currency_code (cookie and local storage) | Remembers the currency the site is displayed in | 1 year |
orbit_store_id (local storage) | Tells the platform which website you are browsing, so the right content loads | Until you clear your browser data |
oc-consent and oc-consent-id (cookies) | Remember the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again on every page, and give that choice a reference so it can be evidenced. Set only once you answer the banner | 180 days |
4. Visitor statistics set by the platform
The platform this website runs on, Orbit Commerce, keeps its own visitor statistics so that we can see how many people visit the site, which pages they look at, how quickly pages load, what type of device and browser they use and roughly where they are. It is first party: nothing is shared with advertisers or any other website, and no profile of you is built across other sites. Your IP address is used only to work out an approximate location (country and, where available, town or city) and is not stored with the record. The entries it uses are orbit_session_id and orbit_visitor_id, in local storage, which stay until you clear your browser data. Page view records are kept for 90 days, after which only daily totals remain.
At present the platform sets these entries, and records these statistics, whichever way you answer the banner.
5. Functional, analytics and marketing cookies
The banner also lists three optional categories: functional, analytics and marketing. Nothing in any of them is used on this website at present. Beyond the platform’s own visitor statistics described above, this website loads no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, whichever way you answer the banner. We checked this on 5 October 2026 by loading the site, accepting every category and confirming that nothing further was set. If we add such a tool in future, this page will be updated to name the provider and say what its cookies do before anything is set, and the banner will keep them blocked until you agree.
6. Services that run the site
Besides the platform itself, these services are involved in delivering the site. None of them is used for advertising or analytics, and apart from hCaptcha none of them sets cookies on your device:
- A content delivery network, which serves our images and fonts.
- Orbit Forms, the platform’s form service, which shows the enquiry forms on this site and receives what you send through them.
- Sentry, an error reporting service hosted in the EU (Germany), which records technical faults and page loading performance so they can be fixed.
- hCaptcha, run by Intuition Machines, Inc., which loads with our enquiry forms and checks that each enquiry comes from a person rather than an automated program. It may set its own cookies when you use a form. See hCaptcha's privacy policy.
They process technical data such as your IP address and browser version. They do not build a profile of you and are not used for marketing.
If you follow a link from our site to another website, that site sets its own cookies under its own policy.
7. Changes to this policy
We will update this page whenever we add or remove a cookie. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
